Over the years, I've collected lots of cookie cutters. I keep most of them in a plastic storage box in my pantry because I try to keep my kitchen drawers from getting too cluttered. However, I do keep some of my sets of Ateco boxed cutters in a drawer because their storage cans are small and compact, and I use them a lot. Ateco is a quality manufacturer of baking accessories. I own several of their products: a revolving round metal cake stand; a large pastry decorating set, including icing bags and tips; and baking spatulas.

The Ateco line of boxed cutter sets includes cookie cutters with holiday and seasonal designs; a bridge set; sets with hearts, stars, animals, toy shapes, alphabet letters, gingerbread families; mini cookie cutters; dog bone biscuit cutters; pie cutters; aspic or jelly cutters; and biscuit/pastry cutters - some come in boxes, and others come in storage cans, like this one. This set has 11 plain round stainless steel cutters in graduated shapes, from 3/4 inch to 3 5/8 inches. They nest perfectly in their storage can, which has a tight lid so the cutters don't spill out into the drawer.

I only use a few of these round cutters on a regular basis though. I find that most of the cutters are too small for anything other than specialty baking. Although Ateco says that their cutters are dishwasher-safe, I hand wash mine because I've found that the dishwasher doesn't always get them clean.

Nice sharp edges, plenty of variation in size. I'd replace them with the same product if I lost them. Dropped a star because the sizes aren't stamped on each cutter. Not that I don't have a ruler, but it would have been more convenient when a recipe calls for a specific diameter to be cut. :)

I looked for a set of round cutters all over my town to no avail. I tried Amazon as a last resort, and of course, they had them. They work well, but as most metals cutters do, they rust if you don't let them dry completely before putting them away. I let them dry overnite, then put a piece of paper towel in the bottom of the can as added insurance that they don't rust. I am very pleased with my purchase.

These cutters are easy to work with and are nicely sized for most cakes. I just put a little crisco on my hands and rub it on the bottom of the cutters before I use them and the gumpaste / fondant falls right out easily.

These cutters are great. My only complaint is that it would be helpful to have the size of each cutter on the actual cutter. Right now I have to use a ruler to figure out if it's going to cut 1/2 inch, 1 inch, 1/4 inch, etc. very frustrating, but the quality is really good and they make great cuts.

i use my set at work where i am sous chef. i usually use them for things like cutting out puff pastry for vol a vents or molding dishes together on my plates. or making things like mini crab cakes for hor d'euvers. they are farely well constructed so i'm not to worried about the durability while cutting thru frozen puff pastry.

I use these for my sandwiches and bento box lunches. I like to cut patterns out of white and wheat bread and mix the colors of breads, and I also use these to cut various circles in cheeses, lunch meats and veggies, to make abstract art salads. They also come in handy for decorating bento box art- because circles are often the basis for various designs I make. You do need to keep these dry, so wipe them off carefully. I saved some of those packets that dehydrate things (the kind you find in the bottom of the jerkey package, for example, that say DO NOT EAT)- and I put that in the tin with the cutters. So far no rust, and I use these little guys constantly. I especially like how deep these cut, as some cutters aren't quite deep enough for making sandwich art- and some thick breads are too deep to cut through.

They're your basic biscuit cutter, but also do a good job when cutting out puff dough, or layered cookies that require a filling in the center. Be sure to dry them after washing, because I can already see a little trace of rust on the bottom of the tin. So just be sure to keep them clean and dry and in their neat little tin! It would be nice if the size was indicated on the side of the rounds, but you can pretty much eyeball it.
